30 years of ERGO Hestia

Highlights of events marking the 30th anniversary

March 2021

Our prom lasted two days and was full of attractions. The main one was the ERGO Hestia charts programme hosted by Marek Niedźwiedzki.
We started a series entitled “Conversations on the 30th Anniversary” hosted by Jacek Żakowski. The interviewees included Members of the Management Board and persons who have been involved with ERGO Hestia for many years. Discussions covered leadership, expertise, social responsibility and innovation. “Conversations on the 30th Anniversary” features 56 videos and as many as 4,300 minutes of recordings.

April 2021

We created the Hestian Dictionary, the biggest experiment since the company’s inception. Employees submitted their suggestions online and posted them on boards placed in the lifts and other spaces in the office.
We launched the ERGO Hestia knowledge competition, which ultimately attracted 614 participants. Ten winners received a KROSS bicycle, an invitation to the Inspiration Week, and the opportunity to participate in the Grand Finale on 2 July.

May 2021

We made ERGO Hestia’s unique Collection of Dutch and Flemish paintings available to a wider audience. From 7 May to 25 July, our collection of 42 paintings was displayed at the National Museum in Warsaw. In total, the exhibition was visited by more than 21,000 people. Every willing employee received a free double invitation to the exhibition. For residents and tourists visiting the Tricity, we offered a foretaste of the main exhibition: an open-air exhibition on the fence of Gdańsk’s Oliwa Park.
We conducted a survey of Hestian culture based on the cultural dimensions proposed by G. Hofstede. A total of 1,235 employees took part in the survey, which allowed us to create our own portrait of Hestians. We displayed the printed portrait in several copies in different spaces of our office.

June 2021

We organised an Inspiration Week, a series of 5 meetings between executives and people from the world of culture and science. Our guests included Olga Tokarczuk, Anne Applebaum, Jan Zielonka, Aleksander Wolszczan, and Radosław Sikorski. We also invited our Top Partners to the Inspiration Week. A total of 850 people attended the event.

July 2021

2 July 2021, the day we had all been waiting for. We summarised the accompanying projects that took place in the past 100 days. We unveiled a new sculpture in the urban space in Sopot which we had funded. We presented special medals to 64 employees with over 25 years’ seniority for their commitment and loyalty to the company. The other employees received anniversary gifts. We all celebrated together 30 years of success on the Polish market over lemonade and ice cream.
