(kilo watt peak) energy output of the photovoltaic farms we insure
The ERGO Hestia Group offers comprehensive insurance for photovoltaic farms and installations aimed at business customers regardless of the size of the company. We insure not only traditional property damage (both natural risks and malfunctions) and the resulting interruption in operation (production of electricity by the installation/farm), but we are also unique in the market to insure losses resulting from lower than designed insolation of photovoltaic modules resulting in lower than planned production of electricity even if the installation itself does not suffer a breakdown.
In addition, we offer comprehensive insurance for photovoltaic installations aimed at individual customers in home insurance. We insure traditional property damage (both natural risks and malfunctions) and the interruption caused by them. The insurance of property against fire and other random events and the insurance of property against theft includes protection for elements such as solar collectors with installations, photovoltaic (solar) cells and photovoltaic installations. Insurance for these items is included in the home or flat insurance.
The first and currently the only such initiative on the market. It is a no-cost add-on to corporate property insurance programmes covering the protection of the building in which the business is conducted. The aim of introducing this clause into the property insurance offering is to build the environmental awareness of corporate customers and actively motivate them to take pro-environmental action in managing their property.
Thanks to the clause, the client can increase the claim payment by the costs of environmental solutions in the event of total damage. In the insurance, we cover the additional costs necessary to design and rebuild the damaged building making the adopted solutions more environmentally friendly. These costs may include, for example, the use of environmentally friendly building materials, reduction of CO2 emissions, removal of elements of the damaged building and ecological certification of the building.
We are one of three insurers on the Polish market offering specialised environmental insurance. In the insurance, we cover the costs of restoring the environment to its pre-damage state. The scope of cover in this insurance includes, among others, the costs of removing pollutants from land or water and the costs of restoring protected natural habitats and protected animal and plant species.
ERGO Hestia offers financial guarantees for companies involved in the waste management chain. In addition, in the offer for individual customers under the Hestia 7, ERGO 7 and Moja Firma packages, ERGO Hestia covers damage to installations of private PV and solar (thermal) collectors.
For motor insurance, the company has extended the scope of its general insurance terms and conditions for new cars in packages offered through car dealers. The product covers damage specific to batteries/electronic equipment in electric and hybrid cars.
Innovative IoT risk monitoring solutions for businesses. The operation of small sensors helps to turn standard components used in a business, such as electric motors or electrical switchgear, into smart, wirelessly communicating devices. With real-time monitoring, we can alert customers to potential risks in good time. Through the use of Internet of Things technology, we are creating a new insurance model aimed at prevention, business continuity and minimising CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. The Online Assistance application helps clients to check at any time which documents are necessary for a decision on the reported damage and its verification status. It also makes it possible to carry out a remote inspection during a video call with the claims adjuster, which means that the mobile claims adjuster (expert) does not have to travel to the customer to carry out the inspection. ERGO Hestia makes every effort to make the loss adjustment process simple and quick.
5,416 video inspections carried out in 2021 thanks to applications and the simplified procedure (2,794 in 2020)
The AutoWycena app launched in 2020 as an alternative to simplified claims adjustment gives customers the opportunity to adjust a small motor damage themselves. The app shortens the time necessary for loss adjustment and reduces the related paperwork. After reporting the damage, the customer receives an individual link to the app via SMS, enabling them to carry out a self-assessment, add photos of the damage and the documentation necessary to process the claim.
The customer specifies the scope and extent of the damage and the system automatically calculates the amount of claims. The proposal can be accepted or rejected by the customer while all accompanying documentation is uploaded directly into the claims file. If the customer accepts the amount of the claim, it is paid immediately. In the case of any objections to the cost estimate, the ERGO Hestia consultant contacts the customer to present a proposal after potential recalculation in order to conclude an arrangement.
An environmentally friendly campaign by ERGO Hestia and KROSS. As part of the campaign, instead of a replacement car, customers can receive a bicycle which they keep forever.
684 arrangements with customers and injured parties in 2021 under the “Bike Forever” programme (up 13% vs. 2020)
Nearly 2,000 bicycles donated in the project.
