Why work for the ERGO Hestia Group?
Talent is any employee who, through his or her knowledge, experience and personality, fits in his or her role and implements the company’s strategy by being an active member of the Hestian community. We attach great importance to the recruitment and induction of new employees so that new hires feel comfortable in their new environment and are smoothly introduced to their tasks.
We use internal and external recruitment sources. Each recruitment is carried out with the utmost care according to specific rules and patterns, as well as documents describing the recommended standard of the recruitment interview. During the recruitment process, all candidates are treated equally and confidentiality is assured. We also conduct candidate satisfaction surveys and open communication with candidates, e.g., via chat available in the Career tab.
In 2021, we organised an event for employees and external candidates (including science students) to promote IT and innovation at ERGO Hestia. The programme of the event included presentations by our employees, expert talks, a special guest appearance by the well-known programmer Petros Psyllos.
Participants at the event could find out how exponentially accelerating technologies will change our world. We talked about Artificial Intelligence, deep learning, Big Data, Internet of Things, chatbots, social robots, quantum computers, neuromorphic computers, augmented and virtual reality, 3D and 4D printing, precision medicine, biotechnology, nanotechnology, Internet of Bodies: the latest developments in these fields, the direction of research into these technologies and what can be expected in just a few years’ time.
Interested participants could get details of ERGO Hestia’s IT activities and information on current job offers and had the opportunity to apply for a position.
Employees periodically meet with their managers to discuss their performance. In addition, HR Business Partners conduct development talks with employees. Every employee participating in internal recruitment can count on in-depth feedback. The quality of the work of the operational and sales areas, as well as sales and service targets, are reviewed.
In 2021, we made full use of ERGO Hestia’s training platform, which was expanded a year earlier. All mandatory training resulting from legislation and regulations is available there, as well as brand new training products, including soft skills training and webinar recordings. In 2021, employees had access to 34 training courses, and the number continues to grow. Training courses on a variety of topics are being developed on an ongoing basis. Most of the e-learning training was developed by our internal experts. In addition, we used in-house and online training courses: a total of 456 training courses per year.

We ensure a high standard of internal communication. We keep employees informed of strategic and operational changes that may affect them. Any important changes are planned and communicated well in advance.
Our main internal communication channel is the EHnews intranet. In addition, the ERGO Hestia NEWS newsletter and the EH News 24 weekly summary are sent out once a week. Information that we want to highlight is reinforced with separate mailings. Online meetings are also organised on Teams. Online communication is supported by messages on screens at the entrance to the buildings and custom campaigns in office spaces.
The ERGO Hestia Management Board’s communication with employees is cascaded: information is communicated to employees by the directors. In addition, the Management Board sends important messages directly to employees via email and in the form of video recordings. At ERGO Hestia, the direct supervisor is the most important source of information.
