In order to ensure a safe workplace for our employees, we have continued the measures taken in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, including rotation of employees and teams, distribution of masks and disinfectant fluids, minimisation of contact with external stakeholders, regular disinfection of common areas, change in office space arrangements, one person in a lift, one person in the kitchen, marking of meeting rooms with information on the number of people allowed, additional disinfection of common areas (including door handles, handrails, lift buttons, in front of lifts), rental and delivery of furniture to employees’ homes (chairs, desks, purchase of ergonomic pads).
The work of the COVID-19 team established in 2020 and the Chief Coordinator for COVID-19 Employee Support continued in 2021 to organise pandemic support activities for employees.
As we have been operating in a pandemic reality for months, we decided to support our staff with a series of meetings dedicated to wellbeing, mindful living and recovery. To this end, we organised six podcasts and four wellbinars with our guests.
1. “On mindfulness” by Zuzanna Ziomecka
2. “Smarter stress” by Katarzyna Malinowska
3. “On mental resilience” by Agnieszka Poliwka-Jeż
4. “On balance and energy” by Paweł Antonowicz
5. “Emotions on a plate” by Hanna Chabaj-Kędroń
6. “On body-positivity” by Marta Stankiewicz
1. “Work-life balance” by Wojciech Bombrych
2. “Empower yourself, live energetically” by Matt Domagała
3. “Perseverance in pursuit of goals” by Piotr Myszka

In the ERGO Hestia Group, the occupational health and safety team is part of the line supervised by the President of the Management Board. It reports directly to the President of the Management Board’s plenipotentiary and is responsible among others for the assessment and updating of work-related risks of all persons employed in the Group’s companies. Thanks to a system of occupational health and safety training (induction and periodic), employees become familiar with the hazards associated with their work and how to prevent them. All employees have access to the EH News intranet which presents up-to-date assessments of occupational risks.
Every year, a review of workplaces is carried out to ensure that health and safety requirements are met, risks are identified and ways of preventing them are defined. The occupational health and safety team also participates in investigating the circumstances and causes of accidents at work and on the way to and from work, summarised in an accident report presented to the injured person. Preventive measures are then proposed and included in the occupational health and safety training programme.
All newly hired employees undergo induction health and safety training. In addition, 404 ERGO Hestia Group employees received periodic training in 2021. All training delivered in 2021 was in the form of e-learning.
Due to the continuation of remote and rotational working in 2021, the number of accidents at work decreased compared to 2020 (-75%).
